Journeys of Sacagawea

September 2004 Sacramento River

This was just a quick day trip on the way back from Washington. We launched at Discovery Park in downtown Sacramento. Just down river from the launch area is the mouth of the American River, we traveled the American River a few miles and then back down to the Sacramento River and Old Town for a few hours to relax from the long drive back from Washington.

Downstream on Sacramento
Heading into America River about .5 miles from launch ramp
This is a beautiful river with clear water. The speed is five knots on the river for all boats.

This boat makes it so easy to get in and out on the beach
Tiggy after a cool swim in the American River
Back on the Sacramento river heading downstream
OldTown Sacramento
Just a reminder that boating can be dangerous to your health
Nice public dock in Old Town Sacramento that is free for day use

This is a great place to tie up and explore Old Town Sacaramento
